Complaining Teens

“There’s nothing to eat.”

“There’s nothing to do.”

“I don’t have anything to wear.”

“It’s too hot for that.”

As the relentless heat wave over our portion of the nation continues with no end in sight, knowing only our own family due to the recent move, and no routine for people out of school, it seems the teens have opted to make a hobby of voicing discontent.

Being in the same heat wave, with little time away from the grumpy teens I admit my tolerance for the complaining is wearing thin. [Read more...]

Blessings…even in mayhem

Ever had one of those days when you realize you shouldn’t have even crawled out of bed?

That was today. Setting my alarm in the 4’s should have been my first clue.

I took off on my early morning run determined to break a barrier I haven’t been able to get past. Imagine it to be some super feat of speed — because it’s not.

As I left, I marveled at the glorious full moon going down before sunrise. At the time, I thought it was beautiful. Now I know it was a warning.

Just getting warmed up in my run, I rolled my ankle. Thankfully, I was on a track with a relatively flat surface. Yes, I twisted my ankle on a perfectly flat surface. It’s not the first time. [Read more...]
